Iraqi Hypertension Society reach out with college students and health care providers

As part of the Iraqi Hypertension Society’s efforts to spread health awareness at the community level, the Society held two scientific activities during the last week, the first one at Fatima Al-Zahra Hospital was on Monday, November 17th. Professor Dr. Ghazi Al-Hajji spoke about the risks of hypertension in pregnant women and ways to manage it. The lecture addressed prevention methods and was a joint session for medical and other health personnel. The second scientific activity was at Al-Bayan University on Wednesday, November 19, in which Professor Dr. Ghazi Al-Hajji gave a lecture on the misconceptions about hypertension, and Dr. Ali Alawi, a Consultant nephrologist and kidney transplantation at the Medical City and a member of IqHS, also gave a lecture on the complications of hypertension and ways to prevent them. The scientific session was attended by the President of Al-Bayan University and the officials in charge of scientific activity at the university, in addition to a large gathering of professors and students of the pharmacy and nursing college. The two lectures were met with unparalleled approval, and the session concluded with the presentation of certificates of thanks and appreciation to the lecturers by the President of the  University. There was also a preliminary agreement to broaden the horizon of joint cooperation between the university and the society.
