Mean Arterial BP Estimation

Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) is a measure of the average blood pressure in a person’s arteries during one cardiac cycle. It is a critical indicator of blood flow and perfusion to vital organs.
Normal Range for MAP:

Normal MAP: 70–100 mmHg

MAP < 60 mmHg: Indicates inadequate blood flow to organs, which can lead to organ failure.

MAP > 100 mmHg: May indicate hypertension or increased cardiovascular risk.

Why is MAP Important?
It reflects the perfusion pressure in vital organs (e.g., brain, kidneys). It is used in clinical settings to assess and manage conditions like shock, hypertension, and hypotension. It helps guide treatment decisions in critical care
