The Iraqi Hypertension Society held a joint meeting on Friday, October 16, 2026, at the Heart of the World Hotel in cooperation with the Iraqi Cardiothoracic Society and the Iraqi Diabetes and Endocrine Association. The speakers focused on how to make the patient the core of medical care, especially in cases requiring consultations with multiple specialists. The scientific sessions covered topics such as ischemic heart disease, atherosclerosis, and the relationship between hypertension and these conditions, as well as the relationship between hypertension and diabetes. Dr Yasir Al-Luhaibi, a cardiovascular surgeon, presented a case of chronic peripheral artery insufficiency with concomitant venous insufficiency and the dilemma of treating of such a patient with unhealed venous ulcer. A fruitful discussion and debate followed on these topics. The scientific session was attended by large number of physicians and pharmacists. and it was sponsored by Al- Hayat Scientific Office, a promoter of Servier Pharmaceutical Company in Iraq.
