The 9th International Conference of IqHS had Just Concluded Successfully
The 9th International Conference of the Iraqi Hypertension Society concluded last week at the Babylon Hotel with unparalleled success. The conference, which saw the participation of numerous physicians and researchers from across the country, presented the latest scientific developments in the field of hypertension and its associated diseases. Most of the problems associated with this disease were addressed, along with a study of its various aspects. This conference differed in its organization from previous conferences held by the Society by adopting a dialogue-based format as the primary means of presenting scientific material. Nine sessions were held over two days, discussing all aspects of hypertension from every angle through questions and answers with the panelists and the presentation of the latest scientific opinions. In addition, several scientific lectures were delivered alongside these sessions by professors in the field. The conference also included several workshops on echocardiography and its role in emergency situations, as well as a workshop dedicated to the pharmacist’s role in managing the disease and the correct method for measuring blood pressure. This latter workshop was led by pharmacist Dr. Rajaa Mohammed. On the sidelines of the conference, the society also presented a project to adopt a digital platform for heart, kidney, and metabolic, CKM syndrome. This platform was proposed as a model for an online clinic that would bring together these specialties to provide scientific advice for referred cases. The conference was attended by a large number of physicians, pharmacists, medical and pharmacy students, as well as representatives from numerous pharmaceutical companies. The conference was well-received, as evidenced by a survey conducted by the society at its conclusion.
